We've Separated from Life
We’ve separated from life. I’d love to share some perspectives with you during Earth week that I think can help us raise our collective consciousness and come into alignment with life.
Can you notice how we’ve separated ourselves from life?
From the Earth. From each other.Even from ourselves.
“The story of separation imagines humans as the apex of evolution, ‘at the top of the pyramid’. It promises human supremacy, unending linear progress, and freedom unburdened by responsibility. It is founded on perceived splits between humans and nature, spirit and matter, the body and the soul, and between some people and other people.”
- True Human
We’ve put ourselves at the top of the pyramid, separate from the rest of life.
We see ourselves as superior, and nature as just a ‘resource’ for our use.
We see the body as inferior to the mind.
We see other people as strangers to ourselves.
We’ve been living inside this story for so longthat we don’t even see it as a story anymore.
It shapes how we think. How we build. How we relate.
We’ve become incredibly good at breaking things into parts, optimizing them, improving them, scaling them.
But in doing that,
we’ve lost touch with the whole.
And maybe that’s why even when things look successful on the outside,
something doesn’t quite feel right.
Because we’ve been living from a place of separation,
from life itself.
Where in your life do you feel this separation most clearly?
