Our Collective Choices

What are we choosing? A perspective for Earth week that I think can help us raise our collective consciousness and come into alignment with life.

“What does it mean to be human when the future of life on Earth hangs in the balance of our collective choices?” — True Human

We take from the Earth as if it’s endless,

rarely stopping to consider what it needs.

We treat nature as a resource,

rather than something we are in a relationship with.

We fill our bodies with things we know don’t truly nourish us,

and then look outside for solutions to fix what feels off.

We give away our attention to systems designed to mine it,

And then we wonder why it’s harder to feel present.

We’ve made this normal.

We use ourselves. We use others. We use the Earth,

to fill our narrow goals.

Not out of bad intent.

But because we’ve been living inside a way of seeing,

that separates us from life.

What we’re doing to the Earth,

we’re also doing to ourselves.

Where are your choices misaligned with life?

- Nitin
